Armed Crime Squad detectives believe the same men may be responsible for an attempted armed robbery in Ascot Vale and two armed robberies in Albert Park early this morning.
The first incident occurred around 3.25am at a convenience store in Epsom Road, Ascot Vale.
The attendant has reported to police that two men were standing at the locked entrance to the convenience store with their faces covered.
The attendant refused to let the men into the store and they are believed to have left in a dark coloured vehicle.
Two further armed robberies were reported to police in Albert Park, the first incident occurred around 3.50am at a service station in Ferrars Street and the second around 4am at a convenience store in Victoria Avenue.
In both of these robberies the two men have entered the shop area armed with long-arm firearms and threatened the attendants before fleeing with cigarettes and money.
Both men had their faces covered and are believed to have left the scene driving a black or dark coloured sedan.
The men are both described as Caucasian and of average height and build.
