Detectives from the Southern Crime Group – Gold Coast CIB have charged a man over the attempted armed robbery of a bank on Golden Four Drive last Monday October 12, 2015.

During the robbery it is alleged a machete was produced and cash demanded.

The tellers activated their screens and the offender left the bank empty handed.

A 34-year-old man from no fixed place of abode has been charged with one count of attempted robbery whilst armed along with two counts of stealing and one count of receiving tainted property.

The man is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
