Police investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s CBD earlier this month have released a CCTV image of a person who may be able to assist with inquiries.
About 9pm on Wednesday 7 October 2015, a 24-year-old woman was attempting to deposit cash at an ATM on George Street, Haymarket, when she was approached by an unknown man.
Police have been told he grabbed the money from her hand and held a black-handled object, believed to be a stun gun, to the woman’s chest.
The woman felt an electric shock and saw light coming from the object.
The man ran away towards Central Railway Station.
Police from Sydney City Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 24-year-old woman at the scene for two minor burn marks to her chest.
As inquires continue, police are appealing for public assistance to help identify the man depicted in the CCTV image; as detectives believe he can assist with their invesgitation.
The man depicted in the image is described as being of Asian appearance, 175cm tall, with a slim build, and short straight black hair.
