Police have released CCTV images of two suspects after a convenience store worker was assaulted during a robbery in the city overnight.

Just after 1am on Thursday 29 October, a men entered the store on Rundle Street, Adelaide and allegedly stole items.  A staff member confronted him and another man outside and was assaulted.  He received a serious injury to his ear during the altercation and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance.

The suspects are both described as young men of Caucasian appearance, aged in their 20s.  One man is about 178 cm tall, with a pointed chin, very pale complexion and very dark hair in a short afro.  He was wearing a black shirt, dark blue baggy jeans and dark sneakers.

The second suspect is about 170 cm tall, with dark spiky but flat hair and a chubby build.  He was wearing a black t-shirt with a logo on the front and baggy jeans.

Eastern Adelaide CIB detectives are investigating.
