Police have charged a 17-year-old man following an alleged attempted armed robbery in which a security guard was injured at a Proserpine golf club last night.
It is alleged a man and a boy broke into the Anzac Road premises around 9pm, damaged property and stole golf equipment before being disturbed by a security guard.
The 55-year-old male security guard confronted the pair and detained one of them before the other returned and allegedly assaulted him with a crowbar.
He sustained minor injuries to his arm and face during the incident and was treated at the scene.
A 17-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were arrested at a nearby residence.
The 17-year-old has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery with violence and entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence. He is due to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on November 9.
