Police are investigating following a ram raid burglary in Epping on Sunday.

Investigators have been told a thief used a stolen Toyota Kluger to smash his way into a supermarket on McDonalds Road about 2.20am.

Once inside, the man entered the liquor section and kicked out the glass doors to a cabinet and stole about 10 bottles of alcohol before fleeing.

The blue-coloured Kluger had been reported stolen from Malvern East in April and was dumped in nearby Edgeware Court where police recovered it on Sunday afternoon.

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
