Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a fast food outlet in Bundaberg early this morning.

Initial investigations suggest that at about 4.30am a man armed with a cricket bat and knife has entered the rear of the store on Takalvan Street.

The man has confronted a male and female employee and has demanded money from them.  The man has then struck the male employee on the back of the head with the bat.

The employees complied with the man’s demands and he fled on foot from the premises with a sum of money.

The male staff member was treated at the scene for the injury to the back of his head.

The man was described as approximately 185cm tall with a slim build and was wearing blue/grey track pants and jumper with a black beanie covering his face.
