Police have charged three men following an investigation into a series of alleged armed robberies across the state.

Strike Force Wallent was established by detectives from State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad to investigate a series of armed robberies in late 2014.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force detectives laid additional charges on three men – aged 57, 24 and 22 – at Burwood Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 18 November 2015).

The 57-year-old man was charged with three counts of robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and be carried in conveyance without consent of the owner.

The 24-year-old man was charged with two counts of robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and be carried in conveyance without consent of the owner.

The 21-year-old man was charged with three counts of robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and be carried in conveyance without consent of the owner.

The charges relate to armed robberies at a licensed premises on Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills, on Monday 24 November 2014; a licensed premises on New Canterbury Road, Hurlstone Park, on Sunday 7 December 2014; and a licensed premises on Josephine Street, Riverwood, on Thursday 11 December 2014.

All men remain bail refused to reappear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 27 January 2016.
