Police are appealing for public assistance after a mail delivery driver had a knife held to his throat and his mail van stolen in Mill Park yesterday morning.
Investigators have been told that a woman approached the man in Apsley Court, after he made a delivery, held a knife to his throat and demanded his keys about 8.15am.
The woman allegedly threatened to kill the driver before driving off with the van and its contents.
A man driving a stolen red Commodore, with registration number WRF437, followed the van from the scene.
The delivery van was later recovered in Layton Court, Mill Park after a witness disturbed the man rummaging through the parcels while the woman remained in the stolen red Commodore.
The pair was startled and fled the scene in the stolen red Commodore.
Detectives are working to establish what may have been taken from the delivery van.
The victim was not physically injured.
Police have released an image of a similar Commodore in the hope it will assist the investigation.

The woman is described as about 25 to 30-years-old, Caucasian in appearance with a thin build and blonde hair.
