Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward following an armed robbery near Wollongong.

About 5.45am on Monday 23 November 2015, a male entered a service station on Elliot’s Road, Towradgi, threatening a 25-year-old employee with a small axe.

The male then ran from the location after obtaining an amount of money. The employee was not injured during the incident.

Police were called to the location and a crime scene was established. A patrol of the area was conducted, but the male could not be located.

Officers from Wollongong Local Area Command continue to investigate the incident.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a male who may be able to assist them.

He is described as being of medium build, about 180cm tall, and was seen wearing a black ‘West Coast Choppers’ branded hooded jumper with a white logo across the front, black track pants, black gloves, and white sandshoes.
Investigators would also like to speak to any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

In particular, they would like to speak to a man who was seen in the area on a bicycle immediately before the incident.
