A man will appear in the Mt Barker court tomorrow following an attempted robbery at a Strathalbyn service station last night.

Just before 10pm, a man entered the United service station on South Terrace and allegedly threatened staff with a syringe before leaving empty handed.

Patrols converged on the area and conducted a search, locating the suspect nearby.

The 42-year-old man of no fixed place was arrested and charged with attempt aggravated robbery, he has been reused police bail and will appear in the Mt Barker Magistrates Court tomorrow.
