Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a hotel on Ruthven Street in North Toowoomba overnight.

Initial investigations suggest at around 9:15pm a man entered the business armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from a male staff member.

The staff member complied with the man’s demands, handing over a sum of cash before the man fled the scene on foot.

Nobody was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170cm tall, of a slim build and aged in his late teens or early 20s.

Investigations are continuing.
