Police from Mount Druitt have charged a man after he allegedly robbed a liquor store at Mount Druitt yesterday.

Police will allege a man entered the store on Rooty Hill Road North about 4pm (Monday 28 December 2015) armed with a knife.

He has allegedly approached the counter and threatened a 31-year-old male employee demanding cash.

The employee has run to the back of the store to escape, and the armed man attempted to open the cash register.

He was unsuccessful, and instead allegedly stole two bottles of alcohol, and a bottle of soft drink before running from the premises.

The alarm was raised and about 5.15pm officers arrested a 33-year-old man on the M7 bike path at Dean Park.

He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon

He was refused bail and will appear in Mount Druitt Local Court today (Monday 29 December 2015).
