A teenager has been charged and investigations continue following an alleged armed robbery of a service station in Wyong on the weekend.
About 11.10pm (Sunday 3 January 2016), a 47-year-old woman was working at a service station on Amy Close when a teenager walked into the premises, followed shortly after by two more teenage boys.
It will be alleged one of the teenage boys produced a firearm, before they threatened the attendant and demanded money.
They fled the scene a short time later, taking cash. The attendant was not injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.
Following inquiries, yesterday (Tuesday 5 January 2016), police executed a search warrant at a home on Fishburn Crescent, Watanobbi, where they allegedly located a firearm.
The gun was seized for forensic examination.
A short time later, police arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home on Maple Circuit, Watanobbi.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station, where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
He has been refused bail, and will appear at a children’s court today (Wednesday 6 January 2016).
Investigations into the incident continue.
