Police have charged a second teenager following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery of a service station in Wyong on the weekend.

About 11.10pm (Sunday 3 January 2016), a 47-year-old woman was working at a service station on Amy Close when a teenager walked into the premises, followed shortly after by two more teenage boys.

It will be alleged one of the teenage boys produced a firearm, before they threatened the attendant and demanded money.

They fled the scene a short time later, taking cash. The attendant was not injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries on Tuesday 5 January 2016, police executed a search warrant at a home on Fishburn Crescent, Watanobbi, where they allegedly located a firearm.

The gun was seized for forensic examination.

About 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 January 2016), police attended the home on Fishburn Crescent, Watanobbi and arrested a 16-year-old teenage boy.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.

The teen was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 7 January 2016).

A 14-year-old teenage boy was charged and appeared at a children’s court yesterday (Wednesday 6 January 2015), in relation to the incident.

Investigations into the armed robbery are continuing.
