Police investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at Ellen Grove on December 24 have charged two men.

It will be alleged that around 8.30am, a man armed with a firearm entered a Post Office on Waterford Road, threatened a male employee and demanded cash.

The employee dived under the front counter and the man allegedly fled the store empty handed.

A 34-year-old Moorooka man was charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, possess tainted property, stealing, unlawful possession of restricted drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, December 29.

A 24-year-old Inala man was charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, unlawful possession of weapons, and possess drug utensils.
