A man armed with a screwdriver attempted to rob a Richlands service station early this morning.

The man entered the Progress Road business around 1am and threatened a 23-year-old male employee whilst demanding money from the cash register.

When this wasn’t provided the man fled the store. He is described as aged between 30 to 35 years, Caucasian, approximately 150 to 160cms tall with a slim build, a light coloured beard and a tattoo on his neck.

The man was wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt and dark coloured shorts.

No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
