5 January 2016 – Armed Robbery – General Store – West Rockhampton

A 19-year-old man has been charged following investigations into an alleged armed robbery at Park Avenue last night.

It will be alleged at 7.50pm, a man armed with a tyre iron entered a Main Street general store and threatened two staff members – a 23-year-old Frenchville man and a 17-year-old West Rockhampton woman.

It will be further alleged the man left the store on foot with a quantity of money.

A man was located nearby on Thomasson Street near the Bertram Street intersection.

No-one was physically injured.

A 19-year-old Berserker man is scheduled to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.
