Police are investigating after a licensed premise in West Gosford was robbed by men armed with an axe and a sword last night.

About 9.40pm (Sunday 10 January 2016), staff members were preparing to close a pub on Hely Street, when two men – who had their faces concealed – ran into the building.

Police have been told one of the men was armed with an axe, and the other had a sword.

It’s alleged the men threatened staff and demanded cash from the till.

The staff members complied and the armed men left the scene in a white Holden station wagon.

Approximately five patrons were in the premises at the time, however no one was injured.

Officers from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene that was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Investigators would like to speak with two men; the first described as being about 175cm tall, with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded jumper, grey tracksuit pants and joggers.

The second man is described as being taller than the first man, with a thin build.
