Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a chemist in Castle Hill today.

About 8.20am (Monday 18 January 2016), a man was seen to leave a white vehicle, believed to be a Mitsubishi Lancer, parked outside the chemist on Old Northern Road, and enter the store.

Police have been told the man armed with a firearm, threatened a staff member, before demanding money.

He fled the scene in the Lancer, taking cash. The vehicle was last seen travelling towards Castle Hill Road.

No one was injured during the incident and officers attached to The Hills Local Area Command were called.

A crime scene was established, and examined by specialist forensic officers.

As police continue their inquiries, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern Appearance, aged between 25 and 40 years, about 185cm tall, and of muscular build.

He was seen wearing a black beanie, a high-visibility jumper with black trimming, black pants, black running shoes and a bag over his shoulder.
