Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of licensed premises at Petersham overnight.
Just after 11pm (Tuesday 2 February 2016), police responded to reports of an armed robbery at licensed premises on Stanmore Road, near Marshall Street at Petersham.
Three men with their faces covered – one armed with an axe and another with a machete – entered the premises and demanded cash from an employee.
The employee complied with their demands and the three men left the scene a short time later in a dark-coloured Subaru station wagon being driven by a fourth person, and was last seen travelling west on Stanmore Road.
Officers from Marrickville and Ashfield Local Area Commands, along with units from the Dog Squad attended the scene and patrolled for the Subaru but were unable to locate it.
A crime scene was established with specialist forensic officers in attendance.
The employee was not injured during the incident.
