Police have released images of a male who may be able to assist with inquiries following an attempted armed robbery in Lakemba.
About 10.40am on Tuesday (26 January 2016) a man walked into a jewellery business on Haldon Street, Lakemba, and threatened the attendant with an axe, demanding gold.
The attendant pressed the duress button and the man fled the scene, without any proceeds.
Officers from Campsie Local Area Command attended and conducted forensic examinations on the business. Investigations are continuing.
Police have released images of a Male who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The male depicted is Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 25-35 years old, with a large build, short black hair, and unshaven.
He spoke English, and was wearing a black hooded jumper with “Everlast” written on the front in white, long black pants, black joggers with white soles, black and tan gloves, and he was carrying a medium size black luggage bag and was armed with a black and yellow axe.
