Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Tailem Bend service station early this morning.

About 1.50am a man armed with a knife entered the Murray Street Roadhouse, threatened staff and demanded money.

The man fled with an amount of cash and was last seen running across the street.

No one was physically injured.

The suspect is described as being 180cm tall with wearing a full face motorbike helmet. He was wearing a red and black check shirt, blue jeans and white sand shoes.

He was also carrying a small ornamental samurai sword which was later found nearby along with the motorbike helmet.
