Inquiries are continuing into the armed robbery of a licensed premise at Port Macquarie earlier this month.

About 7am on Tuesday 8 March 2016, a male employee was confronted by a man as he was starting work at a tavern on Ocean Drive, near the intersection of Emerald Drive.

The man threatened the employee with a knife and demanded he be taken to an ATM inside the club.

After locking the employee in a storeroom, he stole a large sum of cash before fleeing.

It’s believed a white Subaru Liberty was used in the offence.

Police were alerted and officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined.

An investigation into the incident is continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

In particular, detectives would like to speak with any motorists who were in the vicinity of the tavern in the hours leading up to the robbery and may have in-car video.
