Police are investigating the armed robbery of a tobacco store in Townsville’s West End this afternoon.
Around 12.20pm, a man entered the Ingham Road store and demanded cigarettes and that a male staff member empty the till.
When the staff member refused, the man grabbed a carton of cigarettes and fled the scene in a four-door utility.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance with a fair complexion, between 20 and 30-years-old, of a slim build and around 185 centimetres tall.
Investigations are continuing.
