A woman has been charged following an alleged armed robbery at Regents Park yesterday.

About 10.30am (Wednesday 6 April 2016), a woman walked into a shop on Amy Street and left soon afterwards.

She returned about ten minutes later and allegedly approached a shop assistant at a counter and demanded money.

When the shop assistant refused, she allegedly pulled out a crow bar and threatened the shop assistant.

The woman then took cash from the till and ran from the store.

Police from Flemington Local Area Command were contacted and sighted the woman a short distance away on Yukka Street.

Officers arrested the woman and allegedly found the proceeds from the robbery on her person.

A 28-year-old woman from Regents Park was taken to Flemington Police Station where she was charged with armed robbery.

She was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 7 April 2016)
