A man and woman have been arrested following an aggravated robbery at Angaston this evening.

Police will allege that just before 8pm a man armed with a firearm and wearing a balaclava entered a Murray Street hotel and assaulted a staff member.

The man demanded cash from a till before leaving through a rear door.

The staff member received minor facial injuries.

Police quickly responded to the area and intercepted a car on Light Pass Road at Bethany.

The occupants, a man and woman, were arrested after police located a firearm and a bag containing cash inside the car.

A 35-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman from Tanunda were charged with aggravated robbery and firearms offences. They were refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
