Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after two men robbed a service station in Eumemmerring last Friday.

Officers have been told two men armed with a knife and axe entered a service station on the Princes Highway just before 3am.

It is believed they forced the front glass door open after throwing a brick at the door was unsuccessful.

The offenders threatened the attendant and made demands for cash and cigarettes.

Cash and cigarettes were handed over and the bandits fled the scene into Doveton Avenue.

Investigators believe the same men robbed a service station an hour earlier on North Road in Murrumbeena.

The pair threw a brick through the glass door and threatened staff with an axe and meat cleaver just after 2am.

Police have been told they went behind the counter and stole cash from the till before fleeing the scene.

It is believed they may also be responsible for an attempted armed robbery at a service station on Belgrave-Hallam Road in Hallam on Wednesday, 6 April just after 1am.

They were unable to gain access to an internal door and fled the scene empty-handed.

Detectives have released images and CCTV of two men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
