26 April 2016 – Armed Robbery – Tavern – Mermaid Beach

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a tavern at Mermaid Beach in the early hours of this morning.
Around 12.30am the 38-year-old female night manager has told police she was exiting the Gold Coast Highway premises for the night when she was approached from behind by a man and a sharp object was held to her back.
The man made demands for money.
The woman re-entered the premises and handed over money from a safe.
The offender fled the scene.
The woman was not physically injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
