Gladstone detectives have charged a man following the armed robbery of a Gladstone licensed premises early on Monday morning.

It will be alleged that at around 1:15am on May 2, two female employees of the Yarroon Street business were assaulted before cash was stolen.

The two female employees were treated at the scene for minor head injuries.

A 27-year-old Gladstone Central man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, enter premises to commit indictable offence, supplying dangerous drugs, possessing property suspected of having been acquired to commit a drug offence and possess utensils.

He is due to appear in the Gladstone Magistrate Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
