Northern Territory Police have charged a 15-year-old female following an aggravated assault on a supermarket employee in Alice Springs yesterday.

“Police allege that the offender assaulted the woman after being asked to leave the premises,” Superintendent Peter Gordon said.

“The offender returned a short time later with a weapon, threatening the 52-year-old woman.

“The incident was caught on CCTV.

“A short time later Point Of Sale Intervention Police identified the youth and arrested her.”

She was charged with:

  • Assault – threaten with firearm/weapon
  • Assault a person

She was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Court on 20 May.
