Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a service station in Lynbrook earlier this month.

Two men attended the Dandenong-Hastings Road business just after 2am on 2 May and threw a large rock through the glass front door.

The pair then entered the service station, one of them armed with what appeared to be a meat cleaver.

They forced the attendant to open the till and took a sum of money before locating a second till and taking cash from that as well.

The pair then grabbed cigarettes before leaving the store.

The attendant was not injured physically during the incident.

Police from the Southern Metro Region Crime Response Team are investigating the armed robbery and have released CCTV in an effort to identify the men.
