Detectives have charged two men following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Alexandra Hills on May 21.

It will be alleged around 9.30pm, two men entered a service station on Cambridge Drive and one of the men produced a tomahawk.

He allegedly demanded tobacco, but when the attendant refused the two men fled the scene.

No property was taken and no one was physically injured during the incident.

A 18-year-old Hemmant man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, possessing dangerous drugs and failing to properly dispose of a needle or syringe.

A 19-year-old Wynnum West man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

They are both due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court tomorrow, May 26.
