Police have arrested a man and woman after an attempted armed hold-up in Morphett Vale.

At 11.15pm on Tuesday 31 May, police were called to a hotel on Bains Road after reports a man had entered the gaming room armed with a tyre lever.

Further reports were received that the man was being held by people at the hotel.

On police arrival the man was arrested. Police were also informed that a woman had fled the scene. She was located a short time later and also arrested by patrols.

A 46-year-old man from Hope Valley and a 45-year-old woman from Hackham West were charged with attempted aggravated robbery.

They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court later today.
