Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a take away restaurant in Tanah Merah last night.
At around 7.40pm a man entered the Tansey Drive establishment, armed with what appeared to be a handgun.
He demanded money from a female attendant and leaned forward to reach for the cash register, however the woman struck him to the arm with a milk crate while calling for assistance.
A man working in the restaurant came to the woman’s aid and the offender fled on foot along Tansey Drive towards Drews Road.
The man is described as Caucasian, 175-180 centimetres tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black and grey jacket and has his face covered.
No money was taken and no one was physically injured during the incident.
