A woman will face court following an alleged armed robbery of a take away shop.

About 5.20pm yesterday (Thursday 16 June 2016), a woman entered a take away shop on Wentworth Street, Glen Innes, and allegedly threatened a 41-year-old shop-owner.

She fled the location after obtaining cash.

Police attended the scene and commenced inquiries into the incident, including establishing a crime scene.

Following inquiries, about 8pm yesterday (Thursday 16 June 2016), police arrested a 27-year-old woman during a vehicle stop on Meade Street, Glen Innes.

Investigators subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on Manns Lane, Glen Innes, where they seized a number of items of interest.

The woman was charged with armed robbery and unrelated shoplifting offences.

She will appear in Glen Innes Local Court today (Friday 17 June 2016).
