Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an armed robbery that occurred at a service station in Corrimal at the beginning of the month.

About 6.20pm (Wednesday 8 June 2016), a man wearing a bike helmet and armed with a large knife, entered a service station on Pioneer Road, East Corrimal.

He approached the counter where two employees, aged 25 and 28, where working.

The man threatened the pair with the knife and demanded money from the register.

An amount of cash was handed over before the man left the store on a pushbike.

He was last seen heading south on Pioneer Road.

He has been described as being about 185cm tall with an athletic build and fair skin. He had his face covered with a black cloth and was wearing a dark blue ‘hoodie’ and long black pants.

Police from Wollongong are investigating the robbery and would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist with information.

Images of a man police believe may be able to assist with their inquiries have been uploaded to the NSW Police Facebook page and detectives would like to speak with anyone who may be able to assist with identification.
