Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a store in Wolloongabba this afternoon.

Initial investigations suggest at around 2pm two men armed with firearms entered the store on Logan Road and demanded jewellery from a staff member.

The staff member became involved in a scuffle with one man, during which a shot from a firearm was discharged. The staff member then complied with the men’s demands, handing over a quantity of goods.

The men fled the scene in a car which was later located by police abandoned on Lockhart Street in Woolloongabba.

The 45-year-old male staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

One man is described as of a medium build wearing a black balaclava, black hoodie, black pants and black gloves.

The other man is described as of a medium build wearing a white facemask, black hoodie, black pants and black gloves.

Investigations are continuing.
