Police investigating the robbery of a Slacks Creek post office this morning have charged a man with armed robbery.
It will be alleged around 10.45am a man armed with a knife entered the Kingston Road business and demanded money from staff.
The man- who fled on foot after stealing cash- was followed by several members of the public. One, a 66-year-old Springwood man, confronted him and was allegedly threatened with the knife. The Springwood man was not physically injured.
The man ran off and was arrested a short time later after being tracked by a police dog and his handler.
A 22-year-old Brassall man has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with one count each of armed robbery and serious assault of a person over 60.
Police investigations into this robbery are continuing.
