Police have charged two men and a woman following an alleged armed robbery in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 9.30am (Saturday 23 July 2016), a man and a woman entered a business on Carnegie Place, Blacktown, and threatened staff with weapons including a firearm and an axe.

Police will allege a 23-year-old man was assaulted during the altercation, before the offenders left the scene with a mobile phone and cordless phone in a vehicle.

The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment to a laceration.

Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries.

Shortly before 10am, police stopped a Mitsubishi Verada on Bessemer Street, Blacktown.

The four occupants – three men aged 25, 28 and 32, and a 29-year-old woman – were arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

The 29-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were charged with assault with intent to rob while in company causing wounding/grievous bodily harm.

They were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 24 July 2016).

The 32-year-old man was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 8 August 2016.

The 28–year-old man was released pending further inquiries.
