Police are appealing for information following the armed hold up of a convenience store at Kanahooka yesterday.

Police were told about 8.15pm (Tuesday 16 August 2016), a man armed with a knife and with his face covered, walked into the store on Lakeside Drive.

The man approached the counter and brandished the knife towards a 24-year-old male shop assistant standing behind the counter.

He demanded cash to which the assistant complied.

The man ran from the store and was last seen running into a nearby laneway.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were later notified of the incident and began investigations.
