Police are investigating the armed robbery of an Everton Park bottle shop which occurred earlier this afternoon.

Initial information indicates around 1pm a man wearing a balaclava entered the South Pine Road business, produced a black bag and demanded money from the attendant.

The man then produced a hammer and a syringe and continued to demand cash before removing a sum of money from the till.

He fled the scene on foot with the bag and was last seen entering the passenger side of a vehicle which drove off westbound along South Pine Road.

The man is described as Caucasian with a heavy build, wearing a faded blue and white long sleeved flannel shirt, dark coloured shorts, black socks, and black runners.

The vehicle is described as a small white hatchback style bearing the registration plates 500WPI and 486VNO.
