Police are searching for a man who used a knife to try and rob a service station at Greenbank last night.
Around 9.05pm a man entered the Sheppards Drive business and made demands for money and cigarettes while armed with a knife.
The 38-year-old female store employee refused to hand over any money or property.
The offender then stabbed a small electronic screen on the counter before fleeing the premises empty handed.
No one was physically injured in the incident.
The man is described as being aged in his mid 20’s, Caucasian in appearance with a slim build and was wearing a grey hoodie, grey/blue long pants, white hat, white shoes, white gloves and a black shiny cloth across the lower half of his face.
Investigations are continuing.
