Police are investigating after a male allegedly attempted to rob a coffee shop at Nambour yesterday.

Around 8.15am a male entered the Currie Street business and threatened a 23-year-old female attendant with a knife and demanded money.

The female attendant refused and the male left empty handed.

A short time later, police located a 15-year-old boy who was arrested and charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

The female attendant was not physically injured.
