A man has been charged over a glassing on the south coast of NSW yesterday.

About 11.45pm (Friday 9 September 2016), a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old man became involved in an altercation outside the deck area of licensed premises on the Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow.

Police will allege that a 25-year-old man smashed a “schooner” glass striking the older man to the face.

The injured man attended Corrimal Medical Centre for treatment.

The man sustained a deep laceration to the face requiring seven stitches.

On Sunday 11 September 2016, the injured man attended Wollongong Police Station and reported the incident to police.

On Tuesday 13 September 2016 the 25-year-old man attended Wollongong Police Station where he was arrested and charged with reckless wounding.

He was released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 4 October, 2016.
