Police investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery rider in Punchbowl last month have released CCTV footage of the incident and are appealing for public assistance.

About 7.30pm (Tuesday 30 August 2016), a 26-year-old man parked his motorcycle on Owen Street, Punchbowl, to deliver pizzas.

After parking the bike, he was approached by five males, described only as being in their late teens or early 20s and wearing dark clothing.

The five males assaulted the delivery rider, pulling him to the ground and punching and kicking him, before stealing pizzas and a phone and fleeing.

Local police were alerted to the incident and conducted a patrol of the area; however, the males were not located.

Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit’s Strike Force Crommelin are investigating the matter.

Strike Force detectives have released CCTV footage of the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
