Northern Territory Police have charged a 32-year-old male following an attempted armed robbery on Wednesday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said the male was arrested around 4.30pm yesterday near a shopping centre in Palmerston.

“He was also interviewed following a report of a male acting in an inappropriate manner.”

The 32-year-old was charged with:

  • Assault with intent to steal
  • Possess controlled weapon
  • Disorderly behaviour
  • Stealing
  • Act of Gross indecency in a public place

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
