Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Ashfield yesterday.
About 2.30pm (Sunday 9 October 2016), a man entered the licensed premises on Liverpool Road, armed with a knife.
The man approached two employees and demanded cash.
The employees handed over a sum of cash, before the armed man left the premises in a silver coloured Commodore.
No one was injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Ashfield Local Area Command were contacted and established a crime scene at the location.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as being 175cm – 185cm tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper.
Anyone who knows the man’s identity, or has any information that could assist police with their investigation, is urged to come forward.
