Police are investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s west.

About 4.30pm yesterday (Friday 21 October 2016), a 49-year-old man was at a smash repair business on Woodpark Road, Smithfield, when he was confronted by two men in balaclavas who were armed with knives.

The man was threatened with the weapons and struck on the head with the butt of a knife.

He handed over a sum of cash before the two men fled the scene.

Police from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations. The victim refused any medical treatment.

Inquiries continue, no arrests have yet been made.

The first male is described as slim build, about 180cm tall, wearing a high visibility yellow long sleeve shirt, black pants, white Nike runners, black and yellow motorcycle gloves, a black balaclava and he was armed with a 30cm knife.

The second male is described as about 170cm tall, wearing a navy blue ‘Russell Athletic’ hooded jumper, black pants, dark coloured runners, red gloves, a black balaclava, and he was armed with a 15cm knife.
