Police have arrested and charged a man following the armed robbery of a Dubbo fast food restaurant late last month and a crash involving a stolen car today.
Just before midnight on Wednesday 28 September 2016, a man allegedly forced entry to a restaurant on Cobra Street and threatened two staff members with a knife.
Police will allege a sum of cash and personal items were stolen before the man escaped in a Holden Cruze owned by one of the employees. That car was later found abandoned in East Dubbo.
Detectives from Orana Local Area Command have been investigating the incident and attempted to arrest a man at Braun Avenue about 10am today (Tuesday 25 October 2016).
The man fled police but was arrested about an hour later after a stolen car crashed into a fence on Websdale Road.
The 30-year-man was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with three counts of robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon, two counts of take and drive conveyance, drive unlicensed, reckless driving, malicious damage, intimidation, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 26 October 2016).
